FILLINGS

Fillings are one of the most common restorations provided in our office. We get it, mistakes happen, and cavities form. Sometimes cavities are unpreventable. Regardless, in the case that you do have a cavity, you will need treatment and a dental filling so the problem doesn’t worsen. Our tooth-colored fillings will make it seem as if you never had one at all! If you do need a filing, our dentist will discuss your options with you.

PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

It is crucial to start building healthy habits at a young age — that is why we welcome children of all ages at Prairie Smiles Family Dentistry. Instilling in children the importance of maintaining a healthy oral care routine will benefit them immensely as they grow older. It is our job at Prairie Smiles Family Dentistry to provide a comfortable, fun, and educational visit to ensure your child has a positive experience. It’s never too early to start; in fact, as soon as that first tooth comes in, you should bring them in! We will provide extraordinary dental care and provide you with some helpful advice in caring for your children’s oral health.

ROUTINE DENTAL CLEANINGS & PREVENTATIVE CARE

Regular routine cleanings, brushing your teeth, and flossing are the most important habits you can build for maintaining exceptional oral health. It is typically recommended that patients visit their dentist for a routine dental cleaning at least twice a year. Routine cleanings can also help prevent future complications. At Prairie Smiles Family Dentistry, we strive to provide a comfortable and caring environment that makes coming to the dentist something you don’t dread.

CROWNS

Crowns might be necessary when a tooth is severely damaged or has suffered from advanced decay that cannot be fixed with a bonded filling material. A crown covers the remaining tooth and brings it back to its original function, strength, and esthetics. There are several material options available for crowns, and our dentist will discuss and decide with you, what option would be best.

IMPLANT RESTORATIONS

Think dentures, but permanent. If you are missing one or more teeth, dental implants may be the perfect solution for you. Permanently anchored into the patient’s jaw bone, dental implants will not only give you a healthy and beautiful smile again, but also prevent further complications which can arise due to missing teeth. Custom tailored for each patient, an implant will look and function just as a natural tooth would.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Root Canals therapy is required when a cavity has reached the pulp of a tooth. This causes an infection of the nerve. They can easily be prevented with regular checkups and a proactive and healthy oral care routine. If you are in need of root canal treatment, you may not even know it, as some people are unaware that a problem even exists until they have a dental exam. Others do feel symptoms, which can include increased tooth sensitivity, pain, swelling, or a bad taste in the mouth. If you do need a root canal, it is important to get it taken care of as quickly as possible, so as to avoid further complications.

GUM DISEASE TREATMENT

Gum disease is a leading cause of tooth loss and has been shown to link to other medical problems such as strokes, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and pregnancy risks. Symptoms often include red, swollen, and sometimes bleeding gums. Treatment varies according to the severity of the disease, but can range from a routine dental cleaning to scaling and root-planing. Regular check-ins and cleanings with Prairie Smiles Family Dentistry can help prevent gum diseases from developing down the road.

BRIDGES

Bridges can be utilized when tooth loss occurs, or there is severe tooth decay. The bridge will close any gaps in your teeth and will act as a replacement for your teeth, both functionally and esthetically. Bridges are permanently cemented and will maintain the position of the rest of your teeth, preventing discomfort from your teeth moving.

FULL & PARTIAL DENTURES

Dentures have come a long way in terms of look, comfort, and functionality. They are used to replace a person’s teeth when they are missing and will restore your confidence in knowing you have a beautiful, functioning smile once again. Custom crafted for each patient, they fit your mouth comfortably, and snugly. Partial dentures fill in the spaces created by missing teeth and are also be removable.

Dentures can:

  • Improve the appearance of your smile,
  • Improve/restore your ability to eat and speak
  • Prevent facial sagging
  • Replace your missing teeth
EXTRACTIONS

Teeth extractions may be necessary for a couple of different reasons. If a tooth is severely decayed or damaged, to the point where other treatments prove to be ineffective, you may need to have a tooth extracted. Over-crowding may be another reason for having a tooth pulled. If your mouth is too crowded, it may prevent a tooth from coming in and may make alignment with braces more difficult. Dr. Faul is highly experienced and will provide an environment you feel safe and comfortable in.

COSMETIC TREATMENTS

Teeth whitening has become very popular as of late, and for obvious reasons. It can give you that radiant, pearly-white smile that you have always wanted. It can help remove tooth discoloration from coffee, smoking, and other causes. We also provide veneers for our patients. Essentially, veneers are a layer of material covering your tooth that improves the esthetics of your smile. Prairie Smiles Family Dentistry is happy to provide cosmetic treatments for our patients.
